Rosa Parks on Ebay
Listen to this article Listen to this article

As the commerical says , "you can find it all on Ebay!" Well "it" is now the funeral program of the mother of the civil rights movement Rosa Parks.

The auction reads:

ROSA PARKS

A PIECE OF HISTORY

Up for auction is this Full-Color 16 page glossy Funeral Program dated - November 2, 2005 at 11:00am Greater Grace Temple in Detroit, Michigan. In attendance were Bishop T.D. Jakes, Minister Louis Farrakan, Senator Carl Levin, Senator Debbie Stabenow, Congressman John Conyers, Jr. Congressman John Dingell, Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks-Kilpatrick, Detroit Mayor - Honorable Kwame Kilpatrick and many other notable dignitaries. Rev. Dr. Bernice King (daughter of MLK) is also listed in this program.

Here is your piece of history to cherish for generations to come.

Ummmmmmm.....isn't this slightly TACKY! The money better be going to a charity. But it doesn't stop there. You can find a ton of t-shirts with her face, a signed check by Rosa, and over rare items. While it's nice to have a memory of her, remember hre in your hearts. Don't reduce her to a tacky Ebay item cause she means so much more to us.

Parks' trustee, Adam Shakoor is pretty pissed about the exploitation of miss Rosa Parks and her recent homegoing on October 24th. Reportedly, a bidder on ebay offered more than $150 for one of the 14-page programs. Now, Shakoor, in attempts to keep people from completely monopolizing off the death of one of the greatest Civil Rights pioneers, plans to have thousnads of programs reprinted. The programs, distributed by Parks' trustee and associates, will sell for 5 to 10 dollars. The proceeds will go to the Rosa and Raymond Parks Foundation for Self
Development.
