BET Looks for new talent
Listen to this article Listen to this article

BET Nationwide Search for Fresh Faces (USA)
and Exciting Talent With Stops in New York, Atlanta, Houston, Chicago and Los Angeles

Aspiring Stars Ages 18 - 28 Looking to Quit Their Usual Routines Could Get Their Shot on BET

So do you really think you've got what it takes to be a television show host on BET? Here's your chance to prove it. For the first time in its history, BET will tour major cities throughout the nation in search of not one, or two, but a slew of new
faces and fresh talent. The search kicks off with open auditions in New York City on October 3; high-tails it down to Atlanta on October 5; stirs up some dust in
Houston on October 7; breezes through the "Windy City" of Chicago on October 10; and shakes things up in Los Angeles on October 12. The mission is a simple one -- discover new talent to support the many new programs being added to the network.

Final audition locations will be announced in each city at a
later date, with additional information being posted at
http://p220.ezboard.com/fplanetsharkfrm24 .

Auditions
will be open to all male and female non-professionals ages 18 - 28.
BET will also televise highlights from this national talent search as
part of its new Fall '05 season.

"If you think you've got it, then here's your chance to bring it -
- literally," said Reginald Hudlin, President of Entertainment at
BET. "We want the network to reflect what America looks like. We're
looking to add some of the freshest, undiscovered faces to the
outstanding hosts already on board. When it comes to infusing new
energy into television programming, there's no better way than by
adding hot new talent to your arsenal."

Katrina, the drink? Aww hell no!
Listen to this article Listen to this article

First the rapper, The Game, refussing to change the name of his "Hurricane" sneaker, now 2 lawyers from Louisiana are seeking to cash in on the killer hurricane by using the name Katrina on alcoholic beverages. The 2 kuckleheads have filled for a U.S. Patent and Trademark of the name. Andrew Vicknair and Harold Ehrenberg provided federal officials with a logo bearing the word Katrina, the phrase "Get Blown Away." Someone needs to make these guys drink the water that is still floating there in the city.

Life After 106 and Park
Listen to this article Listen to this article

Marie Wright aka Free formerly of BET's 106 and Park is seen here at an ATL night club. Homegirl you look at HOT MESS! We don't know if she was high or drunk or both. But shouldn't she be in the studio working on her album instead of partying. And image is everything...you need to look all good all the time. So Free has broken the #1 rule of never letting the press capture you looking a mess. This is just as bad as the pics of Kate Moss doing cocaine.

Marc Jacob and Lil' Kim
Listen to this article Listen to this article

Marc Jacobs Links With Lil Kim for Charity
Over the years, Lil Kim has become a close friend of Marc Jacobs and his business partner, Robert Duffy. She regulary attends Jacobs' fashion shows and sometimes even accessorizes his arm at events, such as the Costume Institute gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in May.
It was only a matter of time, then, before the designer and rapper would collaborate on a project. On Monday; Jacobs and Duffy are hosting their after-show party woth Lil Kim and Fossil, celebrating the launch of Marc Jacobs Time Pieces, which are manufactured with Fossil.
"When we throw a party, we always tie it in with a charity... and we usually try to get one of our friends involved," Duffy said . "I was talking to Lil Kim and she supports The Door Charity."
The door is a nonprofit organization that annually helps more than 7,000 at-risk youths aged 12-21 with issues such as health and prenatal care, legal problems, tutoring and homework. The Door was founded in 1972 and covers New York's five boroughs. "The reason why I chose the 'The Door...' was because I was a former Door member as a young girl while living in Brooklyn," Lil Kim explained. As a part of Monday's event, Jacobs and Daffy have embarked on a special T-Shirt initiative. On Wednesday; the final touches were put on a window display at the Marc by Marc Jacobs boutique on Blecker Street here. It features a huge photograph of Lil Kim taken by Roger Erickson, with a collection of special T-Shirts Jacobs made featuring her image. The Ts retail for $20, and Duffy said the company manufactured a total of 50,000 of them. One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit The Door.
Lil Kim added, "Marc and Robert are both very dear friends of mine, and when I was that they would designing a T-Shirt in honor of me and donating the proceeds to a charity that was very dear to my heart, I was completely blown away by their generosity and thoughtfulness.
"I absolutely love the T-shirts and hope that people will feel good wearing them while giving back to such an amazing organization," Lil Kim said. She is even throwing in her new CD single, "Lighters Up," featuring three versions of the song. It will come with the purchase of the T-Shirt, given availability.
"Lil Kim is a very easy person to work with, even to be friends with," Duffy said. "She is just easy. She is into it for all the right reasons, and I think it's awesome. It makes me very proud of her."
The Lil Kim T-shirts are available at the Marc by Marc Jacobs stores in New York (Bleecker and 11th Street), Los Angeles and Boston, and the Marc Jacobs boutique in Bel Harbour, Fla. Visit marcjacobs.com for store locations. (By Marc Karimzadeh) (Thanks Chris)

Halo 2 Lan Party

Started by two hardcore gamers, this is the opportunity New Yorkers looking for LAN parties and Madden tournaments (we will be branching out into DDR and fighting games shortly). We simply allow people the opportunity to play against people in person and meet more gamers without the strange complications of Xbox Live (modding, cursing, loudness, racism, and loud racism).

We are having another Halo 2 LAN party. If anyone is interested please reply or contact me via email.
NyClan.net

We are also branching out into other genres in the very near future so as long as you enjoy playing multiplayer games in the Tri-State area, we might possibly be your ticket.

Turnout for the Halo 2 LAN should be massive so contact me or sign up to the forums at NyClan.net for more details. Test your skill! And enjoy yourself. Thanks for your time.

Lil' Kims Reality Show and 5 mic in The Source mag.
Listen to this article Listen to this article

Rapper Lil Kim was in NYC yesterday doing as much press as she can get under her belt before they lock her down in CT. So like everyone else she's filming a reality TV show in partnership with Tracey Edmonds of Edmonds Entertainment who brought you such classic show as BET's College Hill. The reality show will focus on Kim’s final days of freedom as she prepares to go to prison for a year. (zzzzzzzz)

Lil Kim Goes to the Big House is the expected title of the show and is executive produced by Edmonds Entertainment, Kim’s manager Hillary Westin, Michael McQuarn and attorney L. Londell McMillan. The show will feature Kim co-hosting a party with Marc Jacobs during New York Fashion Week, remodeling her house and hyping her new album, Naked Truth, and applying TONS and TONS of make-up! Camera crews have 24-hour-a-day access to Lil’ Kim and she will be filmed until September 19, when she starts her prison term of 366 days.

In other Lil Kim news...The Source magazine, the most unrespected magaznie on the planet, gave Lil Kim's album 5 mics. Hummm...Lights Up is aiight but it's luke warm at best. Shut Up Bitch is a song that a ton of people can't even listen to cause it's just down right wack. MAybe it's cuae her manager is messing around with Dave Mayes? Funny how no other magazine outlet has reviewed the album yet. REsponses from the listening party Atlantic had a few weeks back where luke warm on the album at best. She stated yesterday on 106 and Park that "getting 5 mic's is good for Hip-hop. It now puts us female rappers on the same playing field with the men." Umm..I think not! Until another female rapper comes out with a quality record, a quality image, and convert themselves into a brand name, female rappers will continue to fail. We only have a hand full of female rappers really worth anything. Foxy, Remy, Eve, Missy, and where the hell is Rah Digga?

Bizzy Bone Reality Show
Listen to this article Listen to this article

Rapper Bizzy Bone, the former front man of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, has announced the formation of a reality-based show that will be streamed exclusively on AllHipHop.com in a series of weekly webisodes.

The show will begin playing September 26 and Bizzy said he’s not concerned with what the public will think of him.

I dont know what people are going to think. I don’t really be concerned with it, Bizzy told AllHipHop.com. We just doing what we do, doing the best that we can do.

Its people getting to know Bizzy, in the studio, recording the album and other things. People are going to get an in depth look [at him] and get a different side of him - not what the press perceives him as, said Jarred Weisfeld, who signed Bizzy to his 845 Entertainment.

The show displays several ranges of Bizzy, from candid to humorous to troubling.
